About Grammies 2001 and the Grammies Directories
History Grammies 2001 was originally set up in June 2001 as a place for sixth former leavers of 2001 to leave their contact details for fellow students. At the time it was only possible to have a directory for that year, but it was clear that people from other years would like their own directories. In the summer Grammies 2001 moved over to a database system which allowed much more flexibility for future development and useful new features for users such as the search. Next in November 2001 the database was expanded to cope with people from any year and Grammies 2001 was re-launched as a directory for all sixth form leavers. In January 2003 the system was improved once again to allow for more information to be stored, better security, and allowing users to edit their details. Most recently, in June 2004, we launched our ex-teacher's directory, and a lovely new logo! Aim The aim of the directory is to collect the e-mail addresses and other contact details of everyone who attended the Grammar School to create a useful directory and help people stay in touch. To make this a success we need all Grammar ex students and teachers to know about it so tell everyone you know to join. Support Grammies As with all websites, Grammies costs money to maintain, due to the costs of hosting.
